YOU’VE ALREADY HEARD FROM A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO RECEIVED THE TEXT?
Several people in the bbb office received the text. Most while gathered around for Thanksgiving dinner. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GO TO THE WEBSITE?
I value my privacy and security too much to try it myself, but from years of seeing these scams, we know that in the minutes after the text hits, the website could load a virus on your smartphone, tablet or computer – or – be a really good clone of a website set up to steal your identity and credit card number with something as simple as saying you need to pay a small shipping and handling fee to get your $1,000 gift card.!
