Anonymous tip leads to fugitive arrest

A fugitive responsible for vehicular manslaughter has been found and taken into custody.

David Leroy Persons is facing two to ten years in prison for violating the terms of his probation after failing to check in with his probation officer on April 14th.

On September 13th, 2013 a court sentenced Persons between two and ten years in prison for vehicular manslaughter after driving off Arrowrock Road resulting in the death of four-year-old Pearl Sittner.

Persons had has sentence suspended and was ordered on probation release after he completed an intensive drug and alcohol treatment program.

An anonymous tip called into the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center allowed for undercover law enforcement to be apprehend Persons without incident near the intersection Cole Road and Overland Road around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
