'Walk 150' fall school challenge kicks off Sept. 25
Mayor David H. Bieter is urging kids and adults to join him in walking 150 miles in honor of the city’s sesquicentennial celebration.
Earlier this year, kids at seven schools walked more than 9,000 miles in a spring school challenge.
This fall, Boise school children are invited to lace up their shoes and improve their health September 25 through November 8 by competing in the 'Walk 150' fall school challenge.
Schools with the highest participation rate and the most miles walked will win prizes and a visit from the Mayor.
Monroe Elementary School students will join Boise City Council president Maryanne Jordan to kick off the initiative with a celebration and a walk on the playground at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25. The school is located at 3615 Cassia Street.
It's not too late for grown-ups to join, too! For more information, visit www.walk150.org.
