A search to find a missing man who disappeared near the Banks/Lowman highway on May 2nd has been called off.
Dean Eric Christianson had been with several friends that were going to visit Skinny Dipper Hot Springs.
Christianson told friends he was going to fill up his canteen with water along the river edge and never returned.
The group contacted the Boise County Sheriff’s Office to report the missing man. Garden Valley Fire, Swift Water Rescue, and Mountain Search and Rescue scoured the river for several days looking for any sign of Christianson, but did not find anything.
The Payette River that flows along the Banks/Lowman highway is a fast and cold river that registers as a class III and class IV whitewater.
Boise County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate this missing subject and requests that if any citizens observe anything unusual along the river banks to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
