Search for missing hiker at Craters of the Moon National Monument enters third week
Originally reported missing on September 24, the search for Dr. Jodean “Jo” Ellitott-Blakeslee will continue this weekend with approximately 20 searchers led by National Park Service and Butte County Sheriff’s office personnel.
Blakeslee's family has assembled a group of able-bodied hikers/volunteers who will provide assistance with the search throughout the coming weekend.
Please note that Craters of the Moon National Monument and all other national park units are currently closed to the public due to the government shutdown.
For the safety and efficiency of the search effort, family and search personnel are requesting that only approved volunteers contribute to the on-the-ground search.
