SW Idaho man arrested following late-night crash
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A 25-year-old southwest Idaho man has been arrested following a Friday morning crash that killed his 21-year-old female passenger.
KBOI-TV reports that Andrew R. Cassell of Eagle faces a charge of vehicular manslaughter.
Police say Cassell was driving west on State Highway 44 at about 3 a.m. when he lost control of his 2004 Kia Optima and struck a power pole on the right shoulder.
Police say Aldina Ekic of Boise wasn't wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. Cassell was taken to Saint Alphonsus in Boise with non-life threatening injuries.
Idaho State Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
