UPDATE: Red Cross opens shelters in Hailey and Mountain Home
Mountain Home, ID, August 15, 2013. The shelter, at 440 E. 8th St. N, that was opened in response to the Elks Complex fire remains open at this time. The report is that 81 structures, including 38 homes have been destroyed. Many of these are second homes for residents listed as owners.
There is a 6:00 p.m. meeting this evening at the Mountain Home Elks Lodge, at 325 S. 3rd St. W, that will be attended by Red Cross staff to assure any evacuees that we are there with services available to them.
Hailey, ID, August 15, 2013. Last night at 7:00 p.m., a shelter was set up at 1050 Fox Acres Road in the Community Center. Two hundred people attended a Town Meeting there Wednesday night where Red Cross staff reviewed the sheltering and food that would be provided to anyone staying at the shelter. Red Cross partner, the Salvation Army, will provide three meals a day, if needed.
The American Red Cross of Greater Idaho has been asked to set up a shelter in Hailey, Idaho at 1050 fox acres road at the community center. The shelter will open by 8:00 pm tonight.
Red Cross also has a shelter open in Mountain Home at 440 E 8th Street N in the activity center next to St. Lukes.
