The Beaver Creek Fire now totals 111,408 acres and is 92% contained. No active fire behavior was observed yesterday, though limited smoke remains visible inside the perimeter.
654 personnel are working towards full containment of the fire, which includes significant mop up (extinguishing or removing burning and hazardous material) and rehabilitation.
A red flag warning is in effect Tuesday for thunderstorms and gusty outflow winds. This threat persists through Sunday; debris flow from storm activity is possible. The team will maintain staffing of five helicopters to continue support of containment efforts.
A public meeting to discuss the current fire situation and plans for rehabilitation will be held Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Big Wood, 100 Saddle Road in Ketchum.
A second meeting is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Community Campus, 1050 Fox Acres Road in Hailey.
Live streaming of the meetings will be available at www.coxhshub.com/cox-business/.
