Oregon man arrested with 22.5 pounds of marijuana
An Oregon man has been arrested in Elmore County on felony drug trafficking after being found with 22.5 pounds of marijuana.
Detective Kyle Moore made a traffic stop on I-84 on August 21, 2014 and noted that the driver seemed nervous and the owner of the vehicle was not present.
Moore asked the driver if he could search the car which was denied.
A K-9 unit was deployed and alerted the officer that drugs were likely in the car.
A search resulted in 22.5 pounds of marijuana valued at $100,000.
The driver was identified as James Lewis Kelly, 53, from Oregon City, Oregon.
Kelly was transported to the Elmore County Detention Center and charged on felony trafficking in marijuana.
