National Interagency Fire Center brings in two large planes to combat fires

By On Your Side Newsroom. CREATED Jul 24, 2014

The increase of wildfires across Idaho has prompted the National Interagency Fire Center to bring in two C-130 Hercules planes from Wyoming to combat the fires.

Lt. Col Bryan Allen explained that, “This time of the year you get fires breaking out quickly like the ones the other day near Boise and we can use these planes when crews get overwhelmed.”

The C-130’s are able to do large airdrops and were active in fighting the Mack Fire today.
