Nampa Police Officers have arrested a man for stealing a car after stopping a vehicle that ran a red light in downtown Nampa.
Officers determined that the vehicle had been stolen from a residence the day before while the victim was warming up their car.
Police arrested 40 year old Steven Manka of Nampa possession of a stolen car, driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Nampa Police would like to remind residents that leaving your car running to warm it up is unsafe, and illegal. Idaho Code 49-602 prohibits leaving a vehicle unattended without first stopping the engine, locking the ignition, removing the key from the ignition. Doing so is an infraction. Violations are punishable by a $90.00 fine.
