Two motorcyclists were taken into custody on Sunday afternoon after weaving through traffic up to 100 miles per hour.
The Boise County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Valley County Sheriff’s Department about two motorcyclists speeding and driving recklessly. An officer near mile post 77 on Highway 55 observed the motorcyclists and clocked them on radar going 89 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.
Deputies began their pursuit and the riders sped up to 100 miles per hour and then split up. One rider turned onto Highway 52 toward Gem County and was eventually apprehended at the Triangle Truck Stop. The rider was a juvenile and was turned over to his parents. Officers are petitioning the juvenile court to charge the young man with felony eluding charges.
The second rider pulled off into Horseshoe Bend for about fifteen minutes and then got into Highway 52. Police were able to find the rider after he stopped to mingle with other motorcyclist. Gabriel Hon has been charged with eluding police, and providing false information to an officer.
