UPDATE: Search teams searching mountains for Lucius Robbi

By On Your Side Newsroom. CREATED Aug 24, 2014 - UPDATED: Aug 27, 2014

Lucius Robbi, who has been missing since August 19 after finishing his summer job near Banks, Idaho, has many concerned people searching for him.

Robbi was loved and respected by his co-workers who are worried about his safety.  One co-worker described the 21 year old as, "very responsive, very enthusiastic and positive. He loved the outdoors and loved showing it to people."

Robbi was supposed to show up for a college orientation in Montana but never arrived.

A possible lead in the story occurred when a group of people determined to find Robbi found surveillance footage of Lucius Robbi's car passing by a Chevron in Garden Valley at 2:23 p.m. on August 19.  The Facebook page found here had one poster believing that Robbi disappeared between Lowman and Stanley.

A gas station attendant in Salmon, Idaho says that she and her boss talked to Robbi on Wednesday, August 20, only one day after he finished work at Cascade Raft and Kayak Company.

Jenny Hennig explained, "I'm 100 percent sure it was him because I definitely thought it was silly to see a vehicle with a couple kayaks on it. I didn't see the license plate, for sure, but I definitely saw his face."

Volunteers have now split into two camps to find Robbi.  One group is focused on the area north of Salmon where they believe Robbi might be located. A second group is focused on an area between Garden Valley and Stanley where Robbi's cell phone was last pinged.

Police in Darby, Montana, are reviewing camera footage to see if Robbi's green Subaru with orange kayaks passed through town.

Search organizer Jake Gillis told On Your Side that he believes that the car in the surveillance footage is indeed Robbi's.

Now groups of volunteers are searching the mountains hoping to find any sign of Robbi.

Robbi was last seen in the Horseshoe Bend area around 2 p.m. last Tuesday. He is believed to be driving a green 1997 Subaru Legacy with California license plates reading: 6 CCP 540. Authorities say the Subaru could have one or two kayaks on top.

Family members became concerned and notified the Boise County Sheriff’s Office.

Volunteers from Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue are conducting ground and aerial searches.

The Sheriff’s Office has also notified law enforcement agencies in all adjoining counties.

If you have had contact with or have seen either Robbi or his vehicle, you are urged to contact the Boise County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 392-4411
