The Highland Alley Fire, estimated at 600 acres, broke out late Tuesday and shut down Highway 21. Six structures have burned in the blaze. Full containment is now estimated for Wednesday at midnight.
Highway 21 is now open using one lane and a pilot car.
According to inciweb.org, resources are "pouring into the area, including helicopters, airtankers and engines."
Structure protection is in place for the Lucky Peak helibase and nursery, as well as a Rocky Mountain Research facility and Forest Service residence.
The start of the fire is currently under investigation.
A new, small 1.5 acre fire reported Wednesday morning as being caused by a vehicle rollover with subsequent fire is reported up Rocky Canyon in the Boise Foothills. BLM, Forest Service and IDL engines are responding along with a Forest Service helicopter.
