Thousands of bicyclists are expected to pedal through downtown Boise this week for the Tour De Fat parade.
For the past 13 years, the New Belgium Brewing Company has sponsored the traveling event.
The parade starts at 11 a.m. on August 16, beginning and ending at Ann Morrison Park.
Pre-registration options are in place and all of the day’s activities at the park are free.
"Each year, we cross our fingers that they're going to come back and come back for another year. And, each year, we never know what they're going to do,” said Jimmy Hallyburton from the Boise Bicycle Project. “But, if Boise keeps showing up with these record numbers and big attendance, with all their support for the non-profits, we think they're going to come back year after year after year."
This year’s goal is to raise more than $60,000.
The non-profits that benefit from the event are the Boise Bicycle Project, the Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance and the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Assocation.
