UPDATE: Colorado Gulch wildfire may have been human caused

According to a press conference held Monday evening in Hailey, the Colorado Gulch Fire was possibly caused by an 18 year-old man who was setting off fireworks on private land. No charges have been filed at this time. Police do have the man for questioning. His name has not been made public at this time.

All mandatory evacuations have been lifted at this time. No structures were damaged and no injuries were sustained during the fire. Twenty eight homes were placed under mandatory evacuation.

Closures for the following areas are still in effect:

* Croy Canyon is closed at the Bow Bridge to Residents Only
* Lion’s Park is closed
* Colorado Gulch Road is closed at Broadford Road

The fire started on private property in Croy Canyon and then jumped Colorado Gulch Road which is Bureau of Land Management's jurisdiction.

During the early morning hours on July 7, 12 homes were threatened and five homes were placed under mandatory evacuation.

Currently, the fire is about 700 acres and is burning grass and brush.

Nine structure engines, four water tenders, and fpur wild land engines are on scene. BLM has four wild land engines, one bulldozer, two 20-men hotshot crews, two single-seat fixed wing airplanes, one light helicopter, one heavy helicopter and one DC10 VLAT (Very Large Air Tanker) on scene.

Crews are working at eliminating hot spots at this time.
