Chipsealing this Sunday on Eagle Road
Meridian - The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) chipseal crew will work this Sunday, July 21st, on Eagle Road between Interstate 84 and Victory Road.
Crews will also chipseal the heavily-traveled Eagle and Overland intersection.
Work on Sunday will begin as early as 5 a.m. and crews anticipate being done by noon.
Motorists should expect delays, particularly when crews are working within the Eagle and Overland intersection where the traffic signal will be on flashing red and flaggers will direct traffic.
Next week, crews will continue chipseal work in the following locations:
• Overland Road between Meridian Road and Five Mile Road
• Cloverdale Road between Franklin Road and Victory Road
• Florida Drive (residential area) – located off of Cloverdale Road and north of Overland Road
• Various streets west of Linder Road to McDermott Road between Ustick Road and Franklin Road
In residential areas, residents will notice No Parking signs along their street and will receive a chipseal notice on their door before the work gets underway.
Once a chipseal is applied to the road, vehicles are immediately allowed to drive slowly over the new surface, however caution should be used.
Chipsealing helps combat the deterioration of roads caused by sun and weather and involves a multi-step process that helps seal the road surface, providing an armor coat for skid and weather resistance.
ACHD’s chipseal season is anticipated to wrap up in mid- September. For chipseal zone maps, weekly location updates and more information, visit www.achdidaho.org.
