Boise VA releases crisis line and medical center info

After the deaths of Idaho National Guardsman Erik Jorgensen and Airman Sandy Bojo, the Boise VA Medical Center released the following medical and mental health resource information for veterans:

Veterans wishing to get help with PTSD, TBI or other health issues should call this number to ask questions or find out how to enroll for services. The Boise VA also has an emergency room that is open 24/7.

Veterans who are having thoughts of harming themselves and/or others, and want someone to talk with immediately can call this toll-free number 24/7 and speak with someone who can help. Representatives who speak with veterans at this Crisis Line are highly trained and able to escalate the response of resources in the veteran’s local community if they are needed.
Boise VA Public Affairs Officer Josh L. Callihan stated, “Regardless of where a veteran goes or calls, if a veteran is having thoughts of harming themselves or others they should ask for help immediately.”
