Boise State football coach raises money for youth footballl

By Patricia McDonald. CREATED Apr 17, 2014

Boise State football Coach Bryan Harsin helped raise money for Nampa’s Optimist football program today.

Harsin showed up at the Outback Steakhouse in Nampa to talk about the importance of the game, and to drum up financial support for the kids who want to play but may not have the means.

Harsin says the program offers a lot more than just an opportunity to play football.

"The whole team environment and what they're able to accomplish by getting so many young people together and through football teaching them you know a lot of different skills that you know we feel like even in our sports is extremely important to their success,” Harsin said.

There’s still more time to register to play Optimist football in Nampa.

Kids can register on April 26 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.at Nampa South Middle School. The cost is $95 for tackle football, $55 for flag football, and $95 to cheer for the league.

For more information or to help out the kids call 208-461-0823 or send an email to info@nampaoptimistfootball.org.
