Boise Police need public's help in overnight hit and run fatal crash

Boise Police are investigating what appears to be a hit and run that left one man dead on State Street and Collister early Friday morning.
Evidence gathered by officers at the scene indicates a man was crossing the street on foot in the right westbound lane on State Street East of Collister when he was struck by a pickup.
The incident took place at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Friday morning. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle left the scene and has not yet been identified.
An immediate detailed search of the area did not locate the suspect vehicle.
The vehicle may be a light gold colored smaller pickup, possibly a mid- to late-90's Ford Ranger-type pickup truck. The vehicle will most likely have damage to the front.
The incident remains under investigation, additional information will be released as it's appropriate for the investigation.
