Bear Creek Fire means a boom in business for hotel operators
The Beaver Creek Fire is providing some good news -– at least for Twin Falls hotel operators.
Residents of the Hailey and Ketchum areas who are seeking temporary shelter have been booking rooms at hotels in the area.
Twin Falls Holiday Inn Guest Services spokesman Patrick Farnsworth told us, “We’ve seen an influx of guests that are staying at the Hotel because of the evacuation in the Hailey/Ketchum areas.”
Meantime, Kelsey Malher, the front desk associate at the Canyon Springs Hotel in Twin Falls said, “Right now, we have about forty rooms available for tonight. And occupancy is opening up just a little bit from earlier this weekend.”
Other hotels report that not many rooms are available due to Wood River residents seeking shelter. And they are booking rooms for indefinite periods of time, since many do not yet know when authorities will allow them to return to their homes.
