On Saturday Nampa police were called to a home on the 500 block of North Franklin in Nampa. Once there, officers found a 36-year-old male who appeared to have a single stab wound to the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
With information received at the scene, officers determined the victim’s girlfriend, Susana Quijano, was a possible suspect. On Saturday evening officers spotted Quijano walking down the street in Caldwell. She was taken into custody without incident.
Quijano, 34, of Nampa, has been charged with one count of second degree murder and is currently being held at the Canyon County Jail without bond. She will be arraigned on Tuesday.
The victim is a 36-year-old resident of Nampa whose identity is currently unknown.
The incident appears to be the result of a domestic dispute between the suspect and the victim. Nampa Police records show a prior history of domestic violence between the suspect and victim.
