Boise Police officers on foot patrol in downtown Boise early Sunday morning responded to the report of a fight in a parking lot near Grove Street and 6th Street.
Witnesses tell police they saw two men striking a female. The two suspects, later identified as David Manuel Avila, 26, and Francisco Andres Avila, 27, of Ontario, attacked the witnesses after they tried to break up the fight.
One adult male victim received a laceration on his face and other injuries, resulting in aggravated battery charges.
As officers searched David Avila for possible weapons, he intentionally blew blood and mucus out of his nose onto the officer's face and body. Although officers instructed Avila not to do it, he again blew blood and mucus onto the officer’s body and face, resulting in the charge of "Battery on an Officer (Propelling Body Waste)."
The suspects were transported to the Ada County jail and booked on multiple charges.
