Boise native and Treasure Valley developer, Ryan Neptune, waited for months to get Tuesday night's go ahead from the Eagle City Council. Neptune, a snowboarding champion, will soon begin construction on a snow terrain park at the Eagle-Ada sports complex off Horseshoe Bend Rd.
The park will feature skiing and boarding trails, a tubing hill and a wakeboarding park for the summer. Neptune calls the acres of open land the ideal location for children to get introduced to sports.
"Kids can come here and learn to ski and improve their skills enough to be able to take it up to Bogus and really become lifelong sports participants of the ski industry," Neptune said.
However, some homeowners in the Eagle Creek subdivision have concerns about the upcoming construction.
"My biggest concern is the noise level and the entrance to our subdivision," Eagle resident Sandrice Zaccardi said.
Neptune believes homeowners who object to his plans have a fear of the unknown. He promises residents along the foothills will be pleasantly surprised. The park will cost Neptune and his team of developers around $1 million.
