Man cited for inattentive driving after trailer causes seven car crash in Eagle

CREATED Jun. 19, 2013

A seven car crash on Idaho 44 and South Edgewood Lane blocked the road for several hours on Wednesday after a 72-year-old Nampa man crashed a semi-trailer in a group of cars at a red light.

Glen Kiser was driving a semi-trailer and failed to slow down in time. The semi-trailer slid sideways and hit two cars which caused a chain reaction and resulted in six cars getting damaged.

Two of the cars were hit with such force that they were thrown 200 feet from the impact.

Four people were injured in the crash and were taken to local hospitals with injuries that appear to be non life-threatening. Kiser was not injured.

Kiser was cited for inattentive driving, a misdemeanor.

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies, Idaho State Police, Eagle Fire crews, and Eagle Police assisted in the crash scene and clean up.
