The Author of Captain Underpants Comes to Boise!

CREATED Mar. 27, 2013

“Hang onto your underpants!” Here’s your chance to meet Dav Pilkey, children’s author and illustrator and creator of the Captain Underpants series. He’ll be at Boise Public Library’s Hayes Auditorium on Thursday, April 18, at 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library.

Bring your books, get them signed, and get answers to your questions about Captain Underpants’ adventures, straight from the author. If you don’t have a Captain Underpants book, they’ll be offered for sale by Rediscovered Books at the event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Boise Public Library to benefit the Library.

Pilkey began writing and creating comics when he was still in elementary school. His tenth Captain Underpants book, Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-Boxers, was released earlier this year.

Pilkey rarely tours, so how did Boise get so lucky? The credit goes to Sarah Kelley-Chase, librarian at Boise Public Library’s Cole & Ustick branch. She was the winner among 3,000 librarians across the country who entered the “Win a Visit from Dav Pilkey” sweepstakes, sponsored by School Library Journal and awarded by Pilkey’s publisher, Scholastic.
