$1M bail for Post Falls man in girlfriend's death
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- A 44-year-old Post Falls man is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his live-in girlfriend.
Christopher Wayne Thompson was arrested Monday on suspicion of second-degree murder, but charge was amended before his initial court appearance on Tuesday. His bail was set at $1 million.
Post Falls police said the body of 57-year-old Deborah Willette was found in the apartment she shared with Thompson on Monday after Thompson told a relative that he had hurt his live-in girlfriend. The relative called police.
Prosecutors say Willette's throat was slit and she had numerous bruises on her body.
