“Every Child Ready to Read” classes at Boise Public Library

By Philip Morrow. CREATED Mar 25, 2013

BOISE, Idaho -- Boise Public Library invites parents and their children aged 4-5 years old to a free 5-week class, “Every Child Ready to Read.” The classes will be held in the Hayes Auditorium at the Main Library at 10:00 a.m. on five consecutive Saturdays – April 6, 13, 20, 27 and May 4.

Registration is required. Participants must commit to attending all sessions in a series.

Parents will receive hands-on experience in getting children ready for reading. The series is designed to help children and parents learn early literacy skills through everyday activities that help to prepare children for reading success in school. One skill will be highlighted each week, and parents will have a chance to practice it with their child during class.

Families will receive a free children’s book at each of the five classes, and will learn about other early literacy resources found in local public libraries.

Register for the class online at www.boisepubliclibrary.org – just click on Classes & Events, and search for the class – or call 384-4200 (Main Library). The Main Library is located at 715 South Capitol Boulevard.
