Local celebrities to take part in Escaping Hunger

The third annual Escaping Hunger, Fueling Field Trips is part of the Idaho State Historical Society's month-long Make Hunger History food drive and fundraiser.

Local celebrities will be locked into cells at the Old Pen to raise food and money donations for the Idaho Foodbank and a scholarship fund for Idaho Schools' field trips.

Visitors can donate to either parole the celebrity or keep them behind bars longer. The celebrity with the most donations in their name will be awarded the Warden's Cup trophy.

The event takes place today from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Local celebrities will be locked in from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Old Idaho Penitentiary located at 2445 Old Penitentiary Road in Boise.

  • Tim Johnstone, River Mornings co-host on 94.9 the River
  • Anna Webb, Journalist
  • Dan Lea, Journalist
  • Jim Duthie, Meteorologist
  • Jared Goodpastor, Boise Rock School
  • Rocci Johnson, Musician
  • Marie Cuff, International Paranormal Reporting Group
  • Doug StanWiens, Boise High School
  • Janet Gallimore, Idaho State Historical Society
  • Georgia the Prison Hound

Visitors who attend the event and bring at least two non-perishable food items will receive half-off admission at the Old Idaho Penitentiary or the Idaho State Historical Museum.
