City of Boise starting curbside leaf collection next week

By Jaclyn Brandt. CREATED Nov 1, 2012

Fall is already here, and the city of Boise will begin collecting leaves starting next week with their "Recycle the Fall" curbside leaf collection program.

The city will collect leaves Nov. 5 through Nov. 30 but has some rules for those participating. They asked that the leaves and yard trimmings be in large paper leaf bags; bags of leaves should be left open; the leaves should be set out on your regular trash day before 7 a.m.; cluster bags at the curb at least three-feet away from your trash cart; yard trimmings can can include garden plants, and small-diameter shrub trimmings and small amounts of grass.

Yard waste set out in regular plastic bags or boxes will not be collected. Place bagged trash in the gray trash cart.

No branches or woody materials in the paper leaf bags will be accepted in the paper leaf bags. Branches should be bundled and need an overflow sticker on each bundle.

Residents can also take clean, loose leaves or leaves in paper bags to the leaf recycling roll-off bins at Cassia Park and Elm Grove Park starting October 25th.
