Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge to host National Public Lands Day Saturday
Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge invites wildlife-lovers to celebrate National Public Lands Day by volunteering to improve wildlife habitat from 9:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, September 29.
Volunteer crews will pick up litter, remove noxious weeds, or tend wildlife-friendly landscaping at the refuge Visitor Center. Families, friends, students and teachers, work groups, clubs, churches, civic groups, and more are all invited to participate.
Participants will earn a fee-free pass that is good for one day of entrance fees or day use fees at Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or U.S. Forest Service public lands until Saturday, September 28, 2013.
