The Meridian Parks and Recreation Department are planning ahead for the holiday season, and are seeking the donation of a large, live evergreen tree for the City's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, November 30, 2012 in Generations Plaza in downtown Meridian.

In order to be considered, a tree must be located in or around the Meridian area, be at least 35 feet tall, and be accessible from the front or side yard of the property.

The tree will be displayed at Generations Plaza, located on the corner of Main Street and E. Idaho Avenue throughout the month of December and be illuminated each night to help the City of Meridian celebrate the holidays.

Anyone interested in donating a tree should contact City Arborist Elroy Huff at 888-3579 by Thursday, November 1.
