Big Brothers Big Sisters annual picnic takes over Municipal Park tonight
Today from 5 to 7 p.m., More than 300 local youth ages 6-18, their families and Big Brothers and Big Sisters will gather Wednesday evening for a summer picnic.
The picnic will include games, food, a climbing wall and performances by the Ada County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho hosts local youth and mentors in a celebration of the power of mentors to change the life path of at-risk youth.
The picnic will take place at the Municipal Park Shelter Area in Boise.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho is Idaho’s largest youth mentoring organization. Children living with adversity from across the Treasure Valley are matched 1 to 1 with adult mentors. The growth and strength of the relationship benefits the child academically, socially, behaviorally and significantly improves their high school graduation and post secondary attendance.
