A natural gas leak in West Boise Saturday forced residents to evacuate, and it shut down a section of Ustick near Five Mile Road for several hours.
Construction workers hit a 4-inch, gas line shortly after noon, leading to mandatory evacuations of the Syringa apartments, the Family Dollar, and nearby homes.
Workers were able to secure the line around 4:00 p.m. and begin repairs.
Intermountain gas officials say this is the third time they have been called to repair a line in this construction zone.
