Fans of long-running animated shows “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” are about to have their cartoon worlds collide. After debuting at Comic-Con Saturday, a trailer was released on YouTube Sunday for a crossover episode featuring characters from the “Family Guy” visiting the town of Springfield, home of the Simpson family.
After arriving in Springfield, “Family Guy” patriarch Peter Griffin tells his family not to drink the water because, “Everyone around here looks like they have hepatitis.”
In the substantial, four minute and 15 second clip (watch it above), Homer Simpson greets his “albino visitors” with the gift of donuts, then tells Peter, “I think you and I are going to get along just okay.”
In the next scene, Bart Simpson shows Stewie Griffin how to make prank phone calls, then takes him skateboarding.
But things don’t stay cordial for long. Homer and Peter soon come to blows over beer.
In a bit of “stunt casting” involving two other animated FOX shows, Daily Digest News reports “Bob from ‘Bob’s Burgers’ and Cleveland from ‘The Cleveland Show’ appear in one of Peter’s cutaway gags.”
The crossover episode will air Sept. 28 on FOX.
