Two tweens stab friend 19 times, victim survives

By Julianne Cassidy. CREATED Jun 3, 2014

Two young girls lured a third friend into the woods over the weekend before stabbing the victim 19 times. The Milwaukee tweens were identified as Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier in the official criminal complaint.

Geyser and Weier were reportedly fans of a chilling death website, Creepypasta Wiki, and its moderator "Slenderman." The mythical "Slenderman is the site's supposed leader, and to climb up into his realm, a user must kill someone, one of the suspects told police," reports CNN. "'Both suspects had a fascination with a fictitious character that often posted' to websites dealing with stories about death and horror, the police chief told reporters at a news conference."

"They first thought to kill the victim by placing duct tape over her mouth while she was sleeping and stabbing her in the neck," details CNN. "Next, the plan was to kill her in a bathroom where there was floor drain that could make cleanup easier. ... But, finally, the girls decided to do it in a park while playing a game of hide-and-seek, the complaint read."

The victim was invited to a sleepover at the home of one of the suspects on May 30.

A bicyclist found the victim on a sidewalk after she reportedly crawled out of the woods for help. "She was 'one millimeter away from certain death,'" CNN reports, as major organs were hit and one stab wound very close to her heart. However, as of June 2, she was miraculously listed in stable condition.

The girls reportedly had been planning the murder since February.

Although only 12 years old, they are both being charged as adults with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Their bail is set at $500,000 each in Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
