Commuter gets leg stuck between train platform; passengers unite to tip train car, free him
An Australian man got his leg stuck between a commuter train and the platform at Stirling Station in Perth around 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday. Embarrassingly enough, he was stuck at the exact spot of the "mind the gap" marking on the platform.
The unidentified man was freed in about 10 minutes with the help of his fellow passengers.
Transperth station workers alerted the train's driver to remain stopped, as passengers exited the train and stood united as each pushed against the car to slightly tip it away from the platform, freeing the trapped passenger.
Transperth spokesman David Hynes said, “It’s really great when something like this happens and people work together to help a fellow commuter," reports Perth Now News.
The commuter, who was not seriously injured, met with emergency services and was able to board another train to the city later in the day.
