Starfleet captain arrested for DUI in New Zealand
Starfleet's newest captain has been busted for flying through a DUI checkpoint in New Zealand.
Actor Chris Pine has been charged with driving under the influence after he blew a .08 on a Breathalyzer, the minimum for being legally drunk in New Zealand.
According to TMZ, the 33-year-old "Star Trek" film star drove through the checkpoint and police officers had to chase him down.
The incident happened March 1. Pine had been partying at a bar with fellow actors and his girlfriend before being stopped. The actor was in the country to film "Z for Zachariah."
The manager of the bar where Pine was reportedly drinking beforehand told a Christchurch newspaper that he did not appear to be intoxicated when he left.
Pine was reportedly his usual charming self during the stop. He has been ordered to appear in court next Monday.
