Magic Johnson has responded to comments made about him by embattled Los Angeles Clippers owners Donald Sterling.

Sterling was banned from the NBA because of racist remarks he made that were leaked to the media. Those remarks included mentions of Magic Johnson.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper on Monday, Sterling accused Johnson of not helping the black community.

Johnson also spoke to Anderson Cooper on Tuesday, and said he was blown away by Sterling's remarks about him. He also said that he felt sorry for the 80-year-old billionaire, and that he should sell the team, take the money and enjoy life.

Johnson also denied claims that he talked to Sterling after the remarks became public and offered to help him. However, he said Sterling called him and asked him to appear with him in an interview with ABC's Barbara Walters.

Johnson said he refused the request, telling Sterling that he needed to apologize to him and everyone else he offended. Sterling allegedly said he would get around to it.

In a phone call to TMZ Live, Johnson said that he thinks the basketball owner needs help and that he is praying for him.

A NBA committee met Tuesday to discuss plans to have Sterling removed as owner of the Clippers. They did not make a decision and will meet again next week.

But, they need to work quickly. The vice president of the NBA player's union said on Tuesday night that LeBron James and other star players would not play if Sterling is still an owner next season, which starts in October.
