State says no to Satanists but yes to Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster
Apparently it is OK for the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster to participate in a holiday display at the state capitol of Florida, but not Satanists.
A group calling itself The Satanic Temple is not being allowed to install a display at the state's capitol.
Other displays included a traditional Nativity scene, a display from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and a six-foot Festivus pole made of Pabst Blue Ribbon cans.
But officials said no when The Satanic Temple made a bid to add their display to the ones already there.
They called the display "grossly offensive." The proposed display features an angel falling from heaven into an open fire.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, a spokesperson for the temple says they are "surprised and dismayed."
