TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) While the Nogales Little Leaguers have taken many trips around the bases, many of them have not taken a trip on an airplane. That's about to change.

Nogales is headed to the Little League World Series in Livermore, California after winning the Western Regional Championships on its home turf. Nogales defeated El Dorado HIlls, 4-0, to win the title on Thursday night.

"Well, everybody is excited for us that we're going to the World Series," said pitcher Aaron Solis, who pitched a complete game and had 15 strikeouts in the win. It's like a dream come true for us. "We get to meet new people and play a different kind of ball."

"It's very exciting," said outifelder German Fajardo." Since, we've never been to the World Series, its a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This age group is the 12-13 year old intermediate division, not to be mistaken for the 11-12 year olds which head to Williamsport.

"The whole city of Nogales is behind us, commented coach Jorge Gurerro."  I want to say 'thank you' to all the fans. It's been a joy ride.

The team will take that plane trip from Tucson on Sunday morning. The tournament begins on Tuesday, July 29th.
