Jaguars release former Arizona Wildcats QB Matt Scott
JACKSONVILLE (Courtesy of team website) The Jaguars reduced their quarterback number by one Thursday.
They did so on the same day they announced that 27 players - including three with NFL experience - have been invited to attend this weekend's two-day rookie camp at the Florida Blue practice fields adjacent to EverBank Field.
Matt Scott, a quarterback from the University of Arizona who signed with the Jaguars as a collegiate free agent following last year's draft, was released by the team Thursday afternoon. He spent the 2013 season on the Jaguars' practice squad.
Scott's release leaves the team with four quarterbacks: Starter and seven-year veteran Chad Henne, rookie and No. 3 overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft Blake Bortles, four-year veteran Ricky Stanzi and rookie collegiate free agent Stephen Morris.
