TUCSON (KGUN9-TV)- The Cincinnati Reds are honoring former Arizona Wildcat and Cienega High School alum Seth Mejias-Brean.  He has been named the Reds 2013 Minor League Player of the Year.

Mejias-Brean showed he deserved it after putting up big numbers this past season.  He hit .305, adding 11 home runs, and 82 RBI.  Mejias-Brean's batting average and RBI total led the entire Reds’ minor league system. He also compiled 35 doubles out of the 146 hits he accumulated in 2013.

MLB.com ranked him as the Reds 20th best prospect in September.

Mejias-Brean was selected by Cincinnati in the eighth round of the 2012 draft, the same year he helped UA win their fourth College World Series title.
