TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) Nogales Little League returned home to southern Arizona one day after defeated Puerto Rico, 11-4, for the Intermediate Age World Series in Livermore, California.
A celebratory water arch met their plane as it arrived. Fans, friends, and family then greeted the team at Tucson International Airport.
"This is great, just having all these people from our town, here, having the mayor meet us, having all these great fans, parents, families," said head coach Jorge Guerrero.
Centerfielder Alex Ramos added, "Well, its been a dream come true winning the World Series Championship. All the support that we've been getting from here, from Nogales, from our families. W
Catcher Mario Duarte said, "It feels good because we came with a championship back. That's what we wanted. Now, we have to party, all day, all night."
