CREATED Nov. 4, 2013

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The University of Arizona's "Camp Wildcat" is being recognized as KGUN 9 On Your Side and Journal Broadcasting's Community Partner for November.  The honor goes to agencies and people who influence and contribute to our community and help Tucson grow.

The non-profit organization works with hundreds of 4th through 8th graders each year from Title One, low income schools.  Camp Wildcat holds outdoor camping adventures and single day events each year to help students be excited about the outdoors, learn about the environment and have fun that they may have not be able to enjoy otherwise.  Camp Wildcat also gives counselors the opportunity to interact with children  and help them think outside their current situation about their futures, which may even include college.

Camp Wildcat is part of Arizona's Working Poor Tax Credit, which allows donors to get a tax break for up to $400 they contribute to the program. There's more information on Camp Wildcat at campwildcat.org.
