TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson surgeon, Dr. Michael Lavor has returned from Afghanistan where he commanded a level two surgical center North of Kandahar Air Base. The facility takes in wounded Coalition soldiers as well as afghan citizens and insurgents who need immediate care before being taken to hospitals.
Dr. Lavor is a long-time Tucson surgeon who works on the Trauma Team at Tucson Medical Center and Tucson's St. Joseph's Hospital. He spent several months in Afghanistan with the Naval Reserve and working with an international crew of doctors and technicians, using their skills at life saving to treat victims with gunshot and explosives injuries.
