Motorcylist killed in early morning crash
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Officers with Tucson Police Department responded to a fatal motorcycle accident Monday morning.
Sgt. Chris Widmer tells KGUN9 that police responded to Irvington Road and Benson Highway just after 7 a.m. and located a motorcycle stuck between two vehicles.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced the motorcycle rider, 43-year-old Ruben M.Reyes dead at the scene, according to Widmer.
During an investigation into the cause of the crash, traffic detectives determined that the motorcyclist cut in between the two cars. The driver in the car behind the motorcyclist was not able to avoid hitting the biker, Widmer said.
Reyes then slammed into the front vehicle and was thrown from the bike, according to Widmer.
Widmer says Reyes was not wearing a helmet.
