Too skinny for school?

A Yale University student said she felt forced to eat large amounts of food, because she says Yale officials believed she had an eating disorder and needed to gain weight.
At 5 foot 2 inches and weighing 90 pounds, she tried convincing doctors that her low weight was genetic. They disagreed and forced her to begin a weight-gaining regiment or be put on medical leave from the school.
She said the university threatened her with suspension for being too skinny unless she agreed to weekly weigh-ins and medical appointments.
The Ivy League school has since relented and will no longer require her to attend weigh-ins. Her new physician said that Yale Health had made a mistake in forcing her to gain weight.
The school has declined to comment.
