Toddler in serious condition after near drowning

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A toddler was sent to the hospital in serious condition after a near drowning at an apartment complex Sunday.

Capt. Barrett Baker with Tucson Fire tells KGUN9 the parents and the female child, who is about 2-years-old, were in the gated pool area at an apartment complex in the 6600 block of east Broadway Sunday.

Baker says the two parents of the child were in the gated pool area of the complex eating when they looked over and saw the child in the jacuzzi.

The father pulled the feamle out and called 911, said Baker.  He began CPR efforts and the child began coughing up water.
