TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A strong thunderstorm near Three Points is moving west at 5 MPH. Wind gusts up to 50 MPH are expected with this storm, along with heavy rain and flooding.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Flash Flood Warning for northeastern and central Pima County and extreme southeastern Pinal County until 3:30 PM.

Flash Flooding has already been spotted over the warned areas, including Three Points, and the Catalina Mountains. Current warning areas also include, but are not limit to Mount Lemmon, Summerhaven, Catalina State Park, Sabino Canyon and Seven Falls.

These areas could see an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain. Excessive runoff will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, underpasses, and other low lying areas.

It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away. Do not attempt to travel or hike across flooded crossings.
